The EUI-STG Forum on Democratic Participation and the Future of Europe is organizing a webinar series that will explore the outcomes of the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE), giving voice to the different various stakeholders on the Conference.

Thu 27 Jan 2022 17.30 - 19.00

Thu 10 Mar 2022 17.30 - 19.00

Thu 21 Apr 2022 17.30 - 19.00

This webinar series will discuss the debates taking place in the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE), giving voice to various stakeholders in a conversation between European Parliament Representatives, national and regional parliaments, organised civil society, as well as EU supporters and critics.

Themes will include the relationships between elected representatives and citizens representatives in the CoFoE and beyond, expression of conflicting ideologies (pro-euro and euro-sceptic), as well as other matter of interest and questions around the conference.

During the first meeting, the panel will take stock of the issues discussed in the first two European Citizens Panels (on digital transformation, economics, democracy, transparency, rule of law) and ask where MEPs and citizens disagree and there may be scope for them to converge.

By bringing together Conference participants of diverse backgrounds as well as observers, we will offer a broad assessment of the ongoing deliberative process and evaluate the potential of this experiment to further transnational democracy in Europe in the long-term.

The series will see the participation of MEP Helmut Scholz, MEP Danuta Huebner, MEP Gabriele Bischoff and MEP Katharina Barley, among others.

Following Webinars will take place on Thursday, 10 March and Thursday, 21 April from 17.30 to 19.00.

To join the series, please register.
