Zu dieser historischen Entscheidung präsentieren wir nicht nur eine weitere Podiumsdiskussion. Dies wird eine Symphonie von Sprecherinnen und Sprechern der US-amerikanischen Linken sein, die sich mit den Wahlen und ihrem Kampf für Veränderungen aus ihrem jeweiligen speziellen Blickwinkel befassen. Alle werden sie dabei auf unsere Kernfragen in Europa antworten, die sich um den Stand des Präsidentschaftsrennens, die Stimmung und die Spannungen im Land, den Grad der Unterstützung progressiver Kräfte für den Kandidaten Joe Biden und die mögliche Auseinandersetzung mit dem Präsidenten um das Wahlergebnis drehen.
Für die ganze Welt steht viel auf dem Spiel. Aktivist*innen und Expert*innen aus verschiedenen linken Strukturen aus den USA und Europa werden in diesem Webinar zusammenkommen, um auf die vierjährige Präsidentschaft von Trump und die Wahlherausforderung zu antworten. Wie sehr hat seine Regierung die Vereinigten Staaten und die Welt verändert? Was sind die Botschaften von #Blacklivesmatter und anderen Stimmen der US-amerikanischen Gesellschaft, die jetzt so tief gespalten ist? Gefälschte Nachrichten, Turbulenzen in den sozialen Medien, eine ständig wachsende soziale Kluft, Covid-19 und Misstrauen gegenüber dem Funktionieren der Demokratie und ihrer Institutionen - wohin gehen die USA?

September 30th at 6pm Brussels / 12pm New York / 9am Los Angeles. An event hosted by the DIE LINKE. Delegation to the GUE/NGL left parliamentary group, taking place virtually and from the EU Parliament
On this historic decision, we do not present just another panel debate. This will be a symphony of speakers from the US American left, addressing the elections and their fight for change from their respective specialised angle. All speakers will respond to our core questions in Europe, revolving around the state of play of the presidential race, about the mood and tensions in the country, about the degree of support of progressive forces for candidate Joe Biden, and about the potential contesting of the election result.
A lot is at stake for the whole world. Activists and experts from various left structures from the US and from Europe will get together in this webinar to respond to 4 years presidency of Trump and the election challenge. How much has his administration changed the United States and the World?. What are the messages of #Blacklivesmatter and other voices from the US-American society, which is now so deeply split? Fake news, social media turmoil, an ever growing social gap, Covid-19, and distrust into the functioning of democracy and its institutions - where are the US is heading for?
